PROMISES OF CHRIST'S SECOND COMING

THAT CHRIST WILL COME AGAIN

"Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts" (1Corinthians 4:5).

"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing" (2Timothy 4:8).

"The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1Thessalonians 4:16, 17).

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come" (Matthew 24:42).

"Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you" (John 14:28).

"To wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come" (1Thessalonians 1:10).

"They shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him" (Zechariah 12:10).

"When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory" (Colossians 3:4).

"I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth" (Job 19:25).

"And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem" (Zechariah 14:4).

"When the Chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away" (1Peter 5:4).

"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him" (Revelation 1:7).

"Ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven" (Mark 14:62).

"To you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels" (2Thessalonians 1:7).

"If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14:3).

"As the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:27).

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:13).

"This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11).

"The Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works" (Matthew 16:27).

"When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory" (Matthew 25:31).

"He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things" (Acts 3:20, 21).

"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation" (Hebrews 9:28).

"Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be... Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus" (Revelation 22:12, 20).

"To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints" (1Thessalonians 3:13).

"Waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord" (1Corinthians 1:7, 8).

"I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven... and there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom... which shall not be destroyed" (Daniel 7:13, 14).

"Our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall change our vile body... according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself" (Philippians 3:20, 21).

"There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation... But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night" (2Peter 3:3, 4, 10).

CONCLUSION

THAT GOD WILL PERFORM ALL HIS PROMISES

"Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations" (Deuteronomy 7:9).

"For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations. Thy word is true from the beginning" (Psalm 119:89, 90, 160).

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19).

"That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us" (Hebrews 6:18).

"The word of the LORD is tried" (Psalm 18:30).

"He is faithful that promised" (Hebrews 10:23).

"Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth" (Isaiah 25:1).

"My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips" (Psalm 89:34).

"I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it" (Isaiah 46:11).

"He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations" (Psalm 105:8).

"Ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof" (Joshua 23:14). See also 1Kings 8:56.

"The mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee" (Isaiah 54:10).

"If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself" (2Timothy 2:13).

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness" (2Peter 3:9).

"Being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform" (Romans 4:21).

"All the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God" (2Corinthians 1:20).

"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began" (Titus 1:2).

"The Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent" (1Samuel 15:29).

"He will not forsake thee... nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them" (Deuteronomy 4:31).

"They that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee" (Psalm 9:10).

"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises" (2Peter 1:4).
