Healing Foods of the Bible
Continued

The Scripture and your diet.

  • Meat
"Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything."   Genesis 9:3
"The LORD said to Moses, Say to the Israelites: Do not eat any of the fat of cattle, sheep or goats. The fat of an animal found dead or torn by wild animals may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it. Anyone who eats the fat of an animal from which an offering by fire may be made to the LORD must be cut off from his people. And wherever you live, you must not eat the blood of any bird or animal. If anyone eats blood, that person must be cut off from his people."   Leviticus 72:227
"This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood."   Leviticus 3:17
  • Melon
"We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost, also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic."   Numbers 11:5
    Isaiah 1:8
"The Daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a city under siege."
  • Milk
"So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey, the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites."   Exodus 3:8
"And because of the abundance of the milk they give, he will have curds to eat. All who remain in the land will eat curds and honey."   Isaiah 7:22
"...honey and curds, sheep, and cheese from cows' milk for David and his people to eat. For they said, The people have become hungry and tired and thirsty in the desert."   2 Samuel 17:29
  • Nuts
"Then their father Israel said to them, If it must be, then do this: Put some of the best products of the land in your bags and take them down to the man as a gift, a little balm and a little honey, some spices and myrrh, some pistachio nuts and almonds."   Genesis 43:11
  • Olives
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord."   James 5:14
"...until I come and take you to a land like your own, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and honey. Choose life and not death! Do not listen to Hezekiah, for he is misleading you when he says, The LORD will deliver us."   2 Kings 18:32
  • Onions
"We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost, also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic."   Numbers 11:5
  • Pomegranates
"...a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey;"   Deuteronomy 8:8
  • Spices
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices, mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law, justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former."   Matthew 23:23
"Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone."   Luke 11:42
  • Vegetables
"Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see. So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead. To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds."   Daniel 1:12-17
"We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost, also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic."   Numbers 11:5
"   Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself. You are to eat it during the three hundred ninty days you lie on your side."   Ezekiel 4:9
"Then God said, Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds. And it was so."   Genesis 1:11
"Then God said, I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."   Genesis 1:29
  • Wheat
"But ten of them said to Ishmael, Don't kill us! We have wheat and barley, oil and honey, hidden in a field. So he let them alone and did not kill them with the others."   Jeremiah 41:8
"Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself. You are to eat it during the three hundred ninty days you lie on your side."   Ezekiel 4:9
  • Yogurt (curds)
"...brought bedding and bowls and articles of pottery. They also brought wheat and barley, flour and roasted grain, beans and lentils, honey and curds, sheep, and cheese from cows' milk for David and his people to eat. For they said, The people have become hungry and tired and thirsty in the desert."   2 Samuel 17:28-29
